Growing interest in a second Sydney airport will see an explosion of industrial activity come to Wollongong, according to Colliers International’s Simon Kersten.

With Sydney councils rezoning land to residential there is set to be a massive industrial spill coming to Wollongong.
“We are getting attention we have never had before,” Mr Kersten said. And it is for “Smart Industrial”.
There is also a new definition for the Wollongong CBD. “Is no longer a working CBD..it is a living CBD.” New buildings are set to bring a 70 per cent increase in the number of people living around the CBD. “That is 3000 more people. That means more cafes and service industries. That is going to fix the retail problem. Things are going to change very quickly.”
