A record number of artists have been confirmed for the next Illawarra Folk Festival in January.

Now in its 32nd year, the annual four-day event will host 180 international and Australian artists and includes 71 Illawarra act, all across 13 stages.
Headliners include Pete Denahy, former Flying Emus singer Genni Kane, Tinpan Orange, Women in Docs and Glenn Skuthorpe.
The banjo is the instrument of choice next year, while the popular Folk Music School and Music Train from Sydney will again be features.
“People will be able to experience the sounds of traditional folk, Klezmer, Gypsy, Bluegrass, Middle Eastern, Country, Roots, parody, dance, poetry … and more,” said artist director David De Santi.
He said Bulli Showground would come alive with food stalls, bars and coffee vendors which kicks off on January 12 with the traditional Charity Day Concert and Italian lunch.
