The easing of COVID-19 restrictions prompted many to pack their bags and head south for the weekend.
However, that has created long queues and delays as people leave the region, especially at Yallah.
Traffic started banking up around 3.15pm.
Southbound motorists are currently experiencing delays of up to 15 minutes approaching and through Albion Park Rail.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time.
Further south, southbound motorists are currently experiencing delays of up to 35 minutes between Berry and South Nowra.
Motorists approaching Milton and Ulladulla will be stuck in more traffic with delays of up to 10 minutes expected.
High volumes of holiday traffic are expected over the weekend, especially on Friday night and Monday afternoon when families return home.
