There's a veritable feast of competitive fun in store in Wollongong over the weekend when the Wollongong Triathlon Festival kicks off.

If you're into swimming, cycling and running - individually or as a single sport - then this is your dream Wollongong weekend.
You'll find some of the cream of the triathlon crop racing for places on the Olympic team on Saturday, as well as some up-and-coming youngsters from the Illawarra.
Sunday's action will feature the annual Peoplecare Tri The Gong event, which is a swim-bike-run challenge for people of all ages and abilities.

As you'd expect with thousands of athletes and supporters, there are road and traffic changes in places over the weekend.
A special clearway zone will be in place on Saturday, April 20. All vehicles illegally parked will be towed away.
- Cliff Road will be closed between Harbour St and Blacket St from 6am-6pm.
- Blacket St will be closed between Cliff Rd and Kembla St from 6am-6pm.
- Kembla St will be closed between Blacket St and Bourke St from 6am-6pm.
- Bourke St will be closed between Cliff Rd and Kembla St from 6am-6pm.
- Crown St will be closed between Parkside Ave and Marine Dr from 6.30am-6pm.
- Marine Dr will be closed between Crown St and Cliff Rd/Endeavour Dr from 6.30am-6pm.
- Endeavour Dr will be closed between Cliff Rd and Marine Dr from 6.30am - 6pm.
There will also be plenty of road restrictions in place on Sunday, April 21.
- Cliff Road will be restricted between Marine Dr and George Hanley Dr from 6.30am-2pm.
- Bourke St will be restricted between Cliff Rd and Novotel North Beach from 6.30am-2pm.
- Virginia St will be restricted between Bourke St and George Hanley Dr from 6.30am-2pm.
- Bessell Ave will be restricted between Bourke St and Bode St from 6.30am-2pm.
- Kemba St will be restricted between Blacket St and George Hanley Dr from 6.30am-2pm.
- George Hanley Dr will be restricted between Cliff Rd and Squires Way from 6.30am-2pm.
- Squires Way will be restricted between George Hanley Dr and Pioneer Rd from 6.30am-2pm.
- Pioneer Rd will be restricted between Squires Way and Towradgi Rd between 6.30am-2pm.
- The Fish Co-Op on Cliff Rd will remain open for normal trade hours.
Elite Energy will work with businesses and residents where possible to assist in minimising disruption. Buses will operate under an amended schedule.
