Bearing the descriptive address of East Split Rock Drive, the five-bedroom house in the United States has been built on 4300 square metres of red rock and lava field in Utah.
The adobe-style exterior of the home hides 28 tonnes of structural steel, which allows for sculpted ceilings across large, open-plan living spaces.
Rocky crags uncovered during the dynamite excavation feature throughout the colossal 990-square-metre interior.
Built for the sophisticated troglodyte, the residence includes six bathrooms, a cinema room, gymnasium, office, sauna, swimming pool and, remarkably, a weather station.
Not surprisingly, the property boasts several grottoes and flagstone floors. Panoramic views of Snow Canyon State Park are a bonus.
Sotheby's International Realty is offering the property for $US6.25 million ($7.1 million).
And if you were thinking, "only in America", think again.
Rock legend homes are dotted across the continents not to mention our own cave homes in Coober Pedy and the Mira Mira cavern in Gippsland, Victoria.
Perhaps the most famous rock house is Portugal's A Casa do Penedo (which translates to "the House of Stone").
Wedged between four boulders, the property has become a major tourist attraction.
