Porter matched his 2014 regular season mark of 156 points to collect his second straight scoring title but it was the shift from wing to fullback that really underlined his value to the Devils with 17 tries in 15 games to emerge as their number one attacking weapon.
He was only just edged out for player of the year honours by Helensburgh’s Grant Smith but the best back gong was a handy consolation for the Warialda product who joined Wests last year.
Erin Blackwell continued Helensburgh’s hold on the Women in Defence League’s top individual prize – despite their grand final loss – edging out Corrimal’s Mary Latu to claim the award.
