It will be on prime service station real estate – the final northbound servo between Nowra and Heathcote on the Princes Highway once Albion Park is bypassed.
Isaac Property Developments has lodged a development application with Shoalhaven City Council to build a service station on the site.
The service station will be staffed by two people for 24 hours per day.
Within the site, 21 parking spaces are provided including one disabled space.
The developer plans to remove eight trees.
The development application does not include plans to develop a fast food precinct on an adjoining lot, but it is understood plans will be lodged in upcoming months.
The lot will include room for five food outlets, and two companies are already in the process of finding store owners – Oporto and Red Rooster.
It is understood Subway, Hungry Jacks and an Asian restaurant of some description will also be a part of the venture.
The proponent will construct a road shoulder and footpath beside the Princes Highway and new entry and exit driveways on the highway.
Online speculation about the development has been rife.
Critics have condemned the venture for adding to the region’s abundance of fast food options.
If approved and completed, there will be three McDonald’s, four Subway, two Hungry Jacks, four Oporto and one Red Rooster between Bomaderry and Jervis Bay.
The South Coast Register contacted the developer who was unavailable for comment prior to deadline.
