The big-hitting left-hander will make up part of an experienced squad for a Twenty20 match to be held at Manuka Oval in Canberra.
He has been in fine touch in recent weeks.
The Eastern Suburbs batsman scored the fourth fastest century in NSW Premier Cricket when he smashed 113 runs off 56 balls in a quarter final match against minor premiers Campbelltown-Camden last weekend.
It propelled Easts into the semi-finals. Maddinson also had a strong season in the Big Bash with Sydney Sixers.
He scored a team-high 291 runs for the tournament, including knocks of 62 off 31 deliveries and 61 off 26.
The 26 year-old is one of eight players with international experience in the PM’s squad.
"It's pleasing to put together a really strong side to represent the Prime Minister's XI, this is one of the most experienced teams we've assembled for this clash in a number of years," Cricket Australia’s National Talent Manager Greg Chappell said.
“It's pleasing to have a number of other players in this squad with international experience.
"It's also a great opportunity for a number of players in strong form in the Big Bash League, including Nic Maddinson and Sean Abbott as well as emerging talents such as Mitchell Swepson and Brendan Doggett.
"We're confident this team can give England a real test ahead of the T20 Tri-Series."
