And on Tuesday, she returned to the Illawarra, swapping the baggy blue for magenta and scoring not one, but two half-centuries in a Twenty20 trial double-header against Brisbane at North Dalton Park.
At 19 Wilson is a rising star of the game, both with the bat and her glovework.
Wilson blasted 59 off 56 balls in the first of two matches, as the Sixers fell 45 runs short of the Heat’s total of 7-165.
But Wilson returned soon after to help Sydney to 4-151, scoring 54 off 42 balls, while teammate Maddy Darke smashed 65 off 54.
It helped them to a five-run victory to level the day, as the the Heat finished at 9-146. Adding to the Illawarra theme, captain Sarah Aley now also calls Oak Flats home.
Wilson took the gloves for the Sixers in the absence of Alyssa Healy, who is on international duty at the Twenty20 World Cup, hoping to recover in time for the semi-final against the West Indies, after suffering a concussion after a collision in the preliminary round loss to India.
"Tahlia is a talented batter and a developing wicket keeper who adds enormous value to the club both on the field and off the field,” Sixers general manager Jodie Hawkins said.
"She always has a smile on her face and a really positive attitude, she’s just a pleasure to have around."
The Hobart Hurricanes will play against an ICC women’s global development team and the Sixers at Dalton Park on Thursday, starting at 10am.
