This Saturday she will perform on stage with her friend and music mentor Steve Balbi - of Noiseworks fame.
Irwin's dreams of creating music have become reality thanks to music software Atmosphere, developed by biomedical engineer Dr Jordan Nguyen and his team. The technology uses eye-movement and blinks to trigger pre-recorded and programmed notes, chords and sound sequences.
"I am really lucky enough to have so many great mentors that have helped me on my journey," Irwin said of Balbi and Dr Nguyen.
"Being so independent as to perform live on stage, with my cerebral palsy, is just what dreams are made of."
Irwin and Balbi have created a reimagined version of the guitarist/singer's song Winners which was released during Australian Music Week last year. The pair will perform this on Saturday along with Balbi's new song Modern Love.
"Don’t be too afraid to step outside your comfort zone, and to challenge the limits your critics put on you," Irwin said.
