Winona Costin's remarkable run at Archer Racecourse extends after trio of wins

Fresh off securing seven victories across the past two meetings at Nowra, Costin picked up from where she left off, to win the day's opening 2200-metre benchmark 58 handicap.

Riding Mitchell and Desiree Kearney's Eerised, the Kembla Grange-based jockey won by 0.2 lengths from Phelan Thirsty, trained by Conjola's Graeme Murray, and Brett Lazzarini's Fiorzana.

The 26-year-old then backed it up in the with Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott's Bahahaa in the 1200-metre maiden handicap - edging out Richard and Michael Freedman's Police and Annabel Neasham's Charminton for line honours.

That trainer and jockey combination then teamed up to take out the 1000-metre maiden handicap, securing Costin her third win of the afternoon.

Five-year-old mare Blazing Line won the race from Gregory Hickman's Good Deed and Anthony Mountney's Chiranjeev.

Costin wasn't the only person to walk away from the Shoalhaven City Turf Club with three wins, with training duo Waterhouse and Bott also securing the 1400-metre maiden plate with Star Sparks - ridden by Koby Jennings.

Nowra-born Kerry Parker finished second with Poseidon Jewel, with Matthew Smith's Festival Dancer third.

Costin wrapped up her impressive day at the track with two third-placed finishes.

The first came in the 1600-metre class two handicap with Greg Stephens' St Anton finished behind Con Karakatsanis' We All Agree and Jason Coyle's Mandalorian.

She then placed third with Doug Gorrel's Exaggerate in the 1000-metre benchmark 66 handicap, which was won by Matthew Smith's Passistas, ahead of second-placed Monte Di Fiore - trained by Doug Gorrel.

In other results from the seven-race meet, Westgrove, trainer by Berry's Stuart Warden, broke through for his first-ever win in the 1400-metre class one handicap.

The Shaun Guymer-ridden five-year-old gelding pipped former Nowra-bases trainers Robert and Luke Price's Alqaab by 0.2 lengths for the win - with Luke Clarke's Face The Day third.

The day's other race was taken out by Gwenda Markwell's Esteemed Lady (1000-metre class one handicap).
