'The Pause', located at 2A Coal Street, Gerringong is due to be auctioned on June 21.
The purpose built holiday property, which has been featured in publications such as Vogue Living and Inside Out has a guide of $3 million-plus. It's also being sold fully furnished.
The owners of 'The Pause' previously created 'Soul of Gerringong', a luxury holiday retreat.
Selling agent for 'The Pause', Bernadette Farrell from Ray White Gerringong said the "unique and special" nature of 'Soul of Gerringong' had been a major tourism drawcard in the town.
Following that, she said 'The Pause' had then been a popular and in-demand holiday let, typically costing $4000 for a weekend stay, and $7000 for a week.
According to CoreLogic records, the 'Soul of Gerringong', located at 143 Belinda Street, sold in May 2020 for $4,250,000.
The property was sold with the 'Soul of Gerringong' business attached.
The property underwent a major renovation by Ben and Simone Mathews, a Sydney-based builder and interior design team.
The Cronulla-based husband and wife team bought the property in October 2015 as an original coastal farmhouse and transformed it into a coastal retreat, with four dwellings sitting across two titles on approximately 1525 square metres of land.
They spent nine months restoring the farmhouse and adding some additional dwellings, but ensuring they re-purposed all the original materials on-site, a lengthy process Mrs Mathews described as a "labour of love".
'Soul of Gerringong' opened in late 2017.
Meanwhile, around the time they sold 'Soul of Gerringong', the Mathews' built and completed 'The Pause' in 2020.
The home has been in high demand as a short-term holiday let, while the owners have also utilised it as a mid-week getaway or a temporary base for work purposes.
The Pause features five bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms, plus a sneaky bunk bedroom for the kids.
Over two floors, downstairs is dedicated to entertaining, and upstairs is the master guest room, oversized ensuite and study area.
The L-shaped entertaining spaces flow to the tropically-landscaped outdoor level lawn and electric heated pool.
"This property just has a feeling," Mrs Mathews said. "It's like the moment you pull up in the driveway, the architecture of it from the exterior really captures peoples' attention.
"And as soon as you open the front door, there's a feeling of you can just take a deep breath and exhale.
"We wanted it to not feel like your everyday home - we didn't want it to feel like a residential home.
"We wanted to be able to push a few more boundaries with it, so it actually felt like you had been transported on holidays.
"Like the outdoor dining space - it actually doubles up as an indoor and outdoor, as you can press a button and the awnings come down. So you can use it all year-round."
Mrs Mathews said they were selling The Pause as they were "getting itchy feet" and ready to tackle another project.
"When we sold 'Soul of Gerringong', we were like, 'it's time to build the next one', which was The Pause," she said.
"And now it's time to sell this one and look for our next one.
"We live and breathe for that next project, that's what we do personally and professionally. We're creators, not keepers.
"Whoever buys the property, if they want to keep the business going, they can take it over that way, or use it as their weekender or full-time home."
